This federally chartered credit union was originally established by a group of employees in 1972 as AEL Industries Employees Federal Credit Union. Many years and several name changes later, we have evolved into Defense Electronics Federal Credit Union. We are now serving the employees and family members of the Sensor & Antenna Division Lansdale Inc. Of course, we will continue to serve the members who remain with us from AEL through the many changes to Defense Electronics. The credit union is a non-profit organization regulated by the NCUA and owned and operated by the members.

Although the credit union started out as a volunteer organization, it has grown to the point where it now requires two full time employees, one part time employee and several dedicated volunteers. You will find that the credit union offers many of the services that a bank may offer. Our pride is in the prompt, personal service and competitive rates that we can offer.

As Defense Electronics FCU we will continue in our endeavor to fulfill our mission to serve the members to the best of our ability by continuing to offer competitive rates for savings and loans and promoting thrift. By achieving these goals, we will be able to maintain the credit union’s long-term financial stability and growth while promoting the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”.
